Leadership Spotlight: Q&A with Vicki Wolfington
We asked, she answered. Get to know our talented Director of Operations, Vicki Wolfington!
How did your career path lead to talent management and Marick Group?
I actually went to college to be a high school history teacher, but no jobs were available when I graduated. I ended up taking a temp-to-hire position at a large software company.
Once I got the job, I naturally gravitated to helping organizations with training, process reengineering and organization. In 2005, I worked with Marick’s Marc Starzyk and then Rick Landsman on the LMS implementation for the FAA. I got to know Marc & Rick really well and I knew I’d like working with them. I was drawn to Marick because it is a virtual company, and because I would have an opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth. I’ve worked for Marick Group since 2011.
What is your role at Marick?
I’m the Vice President of Operations. I oversee the day-to-day activities of most of the Marick staff. I work with our team and clients each day to ensure we’re meeting our clients’ needs. I consider myself a jack of all trades and master of a few as well as a “fixer”. The good thing about my job is there really is no typical day. One day I’m working tickets in the help desk, and the next day I’m helping organize a managers meeting with a client to discuss an enterprise architecture for training. The next day I might help a client with training materials for administrators using their LMS
How has the talent and learning management industry changed in recent years?
The two biggest changes are the increased use of mobile devices and the notion that clients want the ability take training and access their data – anytime, anywhere.

Any new, exciting information about yourself that you’d like to share?
I have a five-year-old old son named Graham. He is absolutely wonderful and every aspect of my life has changed for the better. And I appreciate Marick Group as a company that is so family friendly.
